...don't know whether it's an account that's been banned or just plain lost. Let me explain.

A few weeks back I noticed a guildmate was suddenly out of our guild. I knew it couldn't have been a case of his being kicked, I know this guy and he's a sweetie. Just to make sure, I asked him if he'd left the guild. He hadn't. Odd. But I re-invited him.

He's a busy guy, recently married with a family, and I wasn't surprised that he didn't immediately accept the invitation. But then a week or so ago I noticed he was not longer on the invite list, and had not yet rejoined us. I attempted to invite again, and got this: "A character by that name could not be found".

This evening, I told him about all this, and he attempted to log on to see about it...but he's getting a message: "Email could not be found".

Has his account been banned? Another guildmate says the only reasons he could think of would be an inappropriate character name, or use of a bot on the account. I know neither could be the case here. He wonders if it's because he's been inactive, but there are people in the guild who have been inactive much longer than he.

Any help would be appreciated here. My friend wants to play again, now that he's got his family settled down a bit. Thanks in advance.

Yep as Gorebrex said, send this to support, get your friend to contact support, it sounds as if his account has been stolen/hacked.

Don't rule out the recent bot banning fiasco.
You may have been an unlucky victim.

Email support and wait for an answer.
